This November the UK is hosting a major UN climate summit (COP26) in Glasgow. It presents a huge opportunity for everyone in the UK to call for faster and more decisive action to tackle climate change at home and abroad.

Expanding the UK’s low levels of tree cover and protecting the remaining fragments of ancient woodland must be at the heart of how we work with nature to store carbon and reduce global temperatures. The eyes of the world will be on the UK this autumn as the summit approaches, we will be asking the nation to join the Big Climate Fightback to get outdoors to plant trees with us – in gardens, community spaces, schools, and farms.

To help get ready we’re taking part in a week of community action and events between 18 - 26 September 2021 and we want to show the Government that the UK is ready to see climate ambition and action at COP26. This will be Great Big Green Week in England and Wales, and Climate Fringe Week in Scotland.
