Nadiya Hussain’s ginger fir tree biscuits
Nadiya Hussain, star of The Great British Bake Off, has shared one of her favourite festive recipes for you to try – her ginger fir tree biscuits! They’re spicy and warming, so are the perfect treat to take along on a frosty winter walk in the woods.
Just download the step-by-step instructions, grab your apron and a grown-up to help you, and get started!
They only take 12 minutes to cook, and once they’re cool, you can have loads of fun decorating them. All you need is green food colouring, desiccated coconut and coloured dragees, and they look just like spiky festive fir trees!
Nadiya’s new recipe book
If you’re a fan of baking, you’ll love Nadiya’s new book, Bake Me A Festive Story.
Each story has a recipe to go with it. You can read about The Elves and the Chouxmaker and learn how to make the lightest, puffiest choux pastry.
Or make some cheesy-feet biscuits (poo-ey!) to go with the story about where odd socks go at Christmas.
There's something for everyone, and no matter what you make, you're sure to impress your friends and family with your culinary skills!
Don’t forget to post a picture of your fir tree biscuits, or other Nadiya recipes you’ve made, and share your own favourite winter recipes too, using #NatureDetectives.
