Whoop, whoop! Playday, the annual day to celebrate all things fun, takes places on 2 August.

There’ll be loads of community events happening all over the country – street parties, festivals in parks and mass adventures in woodlands or on beaches.

Have a look for Playday events near you.

You don’t have to take part in a large public event. You can mark Playday by organising something small-scale for family and friends, perhaps at the weekend. Why not find a wood near you to celebrate in? And remember, Playday is for big kids too, so anyone can join in!

Celebrate Playday in the woods

Woods are the world's best adventure playgrounds, so check out our fun blog on fun things to do in the woods. There are plenty of exciting ideas in our activities section too. Why not build your very own tree-mendous den, challenge your friends to a game of blindfold exploring or go on a summer scavenger hunt. If it’s rainy, you can rustle up some mega mud pies. The possibilities are endless!

Take a picnic

With all that outdoor fun, you’re bound to work up an appetite, so remember to take along some grub – the yummy recipes in our picnic blog are great fun to prepare.

We’d love to see some pictures of the fun you had on Playday, so make sure you post them on our Facebook page, or on Instagram or Twitter using #NatureDetectives.

How will you celebrate Playday?
