Trees for London giveaway
The Trees for London giveaway has now closed
In partnership with the Mayor of London and Sainsbury’s, we have run a fantastic campaign to help Londoners plant trees.
This coincides with London's biggest ever planting weekend on 1 and 2 December 2018. You can still take part by planting your own tree or volunteering at one of the Mayor's planting events.
The trees were given out in support of The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy, an initiative to mark The Queen’s lifetime of service to the Commonwealth and to conserve indigenous forests across the Commonwealth’s 53 countries for future generations.
12,000 lucky applicants were chosen at random to receive a special pack of two native broadleaf trees – one to plant and one to give to a friend or family member.
These trees will help the Woodland Trust and the Mayor to make London greener, and help to create a UK rich in native woods and trees for people and wildlife.
If your application was successful, we’ll be in touch soon. If you didn’t make the 12,000, don’t worry – you can still plant trees.
Whether you're looking for a burst of spring blossom or fiery autumn colour, our native tree shop sells trees for gardens of any size. Visit our native tree shop.
We want to give everyone in the UK the chance to plant a tree. So we give away hundreds of thousands of trees to schools and communities. Apply for your free community tree packs now.
