Recycle in school

Children with a mountain of Christmas cards

You can earn one point on our Green Tree Schools Award by recycling in school.

Christmas cards

Encourage your pupils to collect Christmas cards in school, then take them to recycling bins in Marks and Spencer stores throughout January.

Recycling cards raises funds for tree-planting, so you will be helping us plant new woodland across the UK.

Ink cartridges and mobile phones

Search online to find recycling schemes for used ink cartridges and old mobile phones.

How to claim your point

Register or log onto the Green Tree Schools Award and go to the available activities tab. Click on the add link alongside this activity and tell us if you have recently recycled any of the items above.

One point will be automatically added to your point.

Marks And Spencer Logo

Marks and Spencer supports the Woodland Trust by encouraging customers to recycle cards via the company's Christmas Card Recycling Scheme. Each year M&S plants a tree for every 1,000 cards recycled, with an aim of planting 10,000 trees per year.
