The Scottish Government is inviting everyone in Scotland to help write the next national policy for forestry, woodland and trees.
A new public consultation offers us the first chance in over a decade to shape Scotland’s forestry strategy. What comes out of this consultation will form official guidance and Government activity around planting, protecting and restoring our nation’s woods and trees until 2029 – so getting it right is crucial.
But so far the draft strategy appears to lack both detail, and ambition. We have real concerns about how effective this strategy can be without constructive changes. That’s why it’s so important that you contribute, too.
Have your say before the consultation ends on 29 November.
Please note this consultation has closed. Thank you to all that responded. Each response strengthens our case for an ambitious Scottish forestry strategy.
We will continue to speak up for Scotland’s native trees and woods as this progresses.
