Lying off Licker's Lane, Penny Wood is a small site dominated by Sycamore with a route leading from the western entrance to a small picnic area at its eastern end. The site is a designated Local Wildlife Site owing to valuable grassland habitat within glade areas. Ongoing work to manage the Bramble, Bracken and Sycamore and under plant with native trees is aiming to conserve/diversify the grassland & woodland habitat. Contact Knowsley Council to get involved with Penny Woods on 0151 443 2482.
