Pipers Clough is a patch of woodland that forms part of the Werneth Lowe country park. It houses native trees such as holly, oak and rowan. Only a tiny part of this wooded valley is accessible as the path dips down from the war memorial towards Idle Hill, but provides some welcome shady cover on hot days. The country park provides acres of hilly ground for walking and on a clear day you can see over to Manchester, Saddleworth Moor and even Wales.
