Trees Or Turf

Do trees cost more than grass to maintain in an urban environment? we investigated to find out...

The benefits of trees in an urban environment are far reaching but how much do they cost to maintain? Not as much as grass was the finding of this research comparing the cost of maintaining different grassland regimes to that of maintaining woodland. In the light of increasing awareness of the effect of climate change the research also looked at the benefits of planting woodland and trees for cleaner air, better health, shelter and protective shade,
flood alleviation and biodiversity.
