Volunteer Photographer Scheme

The Volunteer Photographer Scheme (VPS) was established many years ago to provide a way for keen photographers to help the Woodland Trust by providing valuable photographic skills.

First started during the age of photographic film, processing and prints, and when the digital camera was just an idea waiting to be born, our enthusiastic photographers have provided many images to our Woodland Trust Photo Library.

Over the years we've seen prints be replaced by transparencies and these themselves more recently, give way to digital photography in all its file formats from Jpgs to Tifs and now even to RAW.

As the quality of cameras improves and the costs lessen, the ability for more and more people to take a good image with a basic camera is inspiring many more of you to get out and about and capture what you see.

From those with a digital compact, to those with the latest digital SLR. Our team of UK wide volunteer photographers are instrumental in providing a large proportion of our best images which the Trust uses on a daily basis to promote its work.
