The Task
Share your passion for woods, trees and the environment by delivering engaging talks to groups and societies about the work of the Woodland Trust.
Location
We are looking for volunteers across Wales.
Timescale
Ongoing and variable depending on the number of talks you do, the number of talks can vary from 6 up to 20+ depending on your availability.
We would hope that you might be able to achieve 6 talks a year and to be prepared to travel within a reasonable distance of your home.
Experience required/desired
- The ability to present interesting and inspiring talks using the digital presentation provided
- Previous experience as a public speaker is preferred
- An understanding of the our aims and objectives
- An interest in and knowledge about our work in Wales
Qualities required
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Approachable manner
- Enthusiasm for woodland conservation
- A positive and pro-active personality
Do I need to speak Welsh?
No, we are keen to recruit anyone who is willing and able to present interesting and inspiring talks, whether they speak Welsh or not. We do, however, receive some requests for talks in Welsh, so we would especially welcome applications from people able to do talks in Welsh.
Equipment required
- Access to a current and regularly checked email address is essential
- Access to a laptop and data projector would be advantageous but is not essential as some groups can provide this equipment
