Woodland Trust Volunteer Photo Competition
Why not enter your images of UK native trees & woods for the opportunity to have them featured in the Woodland Trust 2011 calendar.
With 2011 planned to be the European Year of Volunteering the Woodland Trust is also planning on celebrating the huge contribution volunteers make by using images taken and submitted voluntarily in its 2011 calendar.
The Theme is being inspired by ‘UK native trees & woods’, so enter your images now and help make this happen!
About the photo competition
We need a whole host of ‘stunning’ images comprising of scenes that capture how you’ve been inspired by our UK native trees and woods, whether that’s on Woodland Trust sites or not.
So submit your images today and show us what has inspired you…whether it’s a wood in full autumnal colour, or trees caked in the snow or ice we’ve all been under recently, or even the first spring flowers that will soon try and pop their heads out under the trees and woods which have helped to shelter them this winter – whatever it is we want to see it!
Remember we’re looking for images that will inspire others to get involved in the work of the Woodland Trust and share our passion for the UK’s native trees and woods… and don’t forget all the proceeds of our calendar go towards supporting our vital work in the UK.
Images need to be:
• landscape in orientation,
• a minimum size of 3000x2000pixels @72ppi resolution but the higher the quality the better, and
• a variety of compositions from landscape view, to mid range to close up, preferably with focal points and atmosphere that makes the image jump off the page!
• Tagged with the following information:
o Tree species and Wood name (where applicable)
o Reason why you’ve submitted that particular image – what’s your inspiration? (optional)
Final judging will take place mid 2010 and one lucky winner will receive £50 worth of photography vouchers and have their image selected for the front cover and included in the relevant month of the calendar. Up to 11 lucky runner’s up will also receive £20 worth of photography vouchers and have their images included in the relevant month of the calendar.
