Exploring Woodland Heritage, Ledmore and Migdale

15th and 16th June

Exploring Woodland Heritage - Join a two day workshop to explore Ledmore and Migdale Woods with the help of experts in woodland history and archaeology. Learn about techniques and resources involved in investigating woodland heritage and apply your skills to a study site in the wood. Bring a packed lunch.

There is a suggested donation of £30. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please make sure that you dress for the outdoors.

Migdale Magic, Ledmore & Migdale Woods

Saturday 29 June, 2pm to 4pm 

Let your senses come alive on a magical Earthwalk in the woods. Suitable for children of all ages! This event is part of the Wild North Festival, an exciting fortnight of nature-themed events across Caithness and Sutherland during the last week of June and first week of July.

Glen to Glen Walk
Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park

Friday 21st June, all day

Join both Woodland Trust and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Rangers for this beautiful and rugged walk. Starting in Glen Buckie, near Balquhidder, we’ll walk up through Glen Shoinnie, before crossing over into Glen Meann, on Glen Finglas Estate. We will then descend down through Glen Meann to the Finglas Reservoir, from where a mini bus will take us back to our cars.
This will be an all-day walk and although an easy pace will be set, a reasonable level of fitness is required.

Ancient Tree Hunt Recording Day
Harestanes Country Park, Jedburgh

Saturday 22nd June, 9.30am - 4.30pm

Are you interested in finding and protecting ancient and veteran trees? Come along to our free 'Ancient Tree Hunt' recording day and find out more about a UK wide project to record ancient trees and how you can make a difference. In the afternoon we'll record veteran trees in the grounds of neighbouring Monteviot House.

Autumn Tree Planting Day

One year on from the launch of Lang Craigs the Woodland Trust invites everyone along to their autumn tree planting day. There will be lots of fun activities for all the family. Please bring walking boots/ wellies, waterproofs, warm clothes and a spade.
