Cast your memory back to the dawning of the Millennium….
What did you do? It may be that you and your community were amongst the thousands of people who took part in the Woodland Trust's Woods on your Doorstep woodland creation project, sharing our vision of creating 250 new community woods to mark the Millennium.

Just 10 years later, our vision of flourishing new woodland is becoming reality!
The knee-high saplings planted in bare land by communities at 250 sites across the UK are now well above head height, creating vital habitats for wildlife and special places for people to visit and enjoy.
To celebrate these young woods and commemorate what has been achieved in just a decade, the Woodland Trust is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Woods on your Doorstep this summer!
There are lots of ways to get involved. We would love people to share their stories, photographs and memories about their millennium wood, and tell us what it means today. If you want to find out how Woods on your Doorstep woods have developed over the past 10 years, watch our celebration video.
We also want communities to plant more native woods and trees for the next 10 years and beyond!
As part of our More Trees, More Good campaign, groups can apply for a FREE community tree planting pack, or may be eligible for MOREwoods support if planting over a hectare.
Visit our More Trees, More Good centre to see how we can help you plant trees and woods,

Communities are also holding local celebration events in Millennium woods up and down the UK so keep an eye out for publicity in your local area.
If you're interested in organising a celebration yourself, please email us at: celebrate@woodlandtrust.org.uk
