David Wheeler and Joy Rayner

David Wheeler and Joy Rayner wrote to let us they had remembered the Woodland Trust in their wills and what had inspired them:

"We both love and get a great deal of pleasure from seeing trees in our habitat and feel that too many are disappearing – in many cases not because of old age of disease. Even in our own village, trees and habitat seem to be cut down for no reason or to make way for unnecessary development. We despair when even the local council, which is supposed to have a conservation policy, will do nothing to stop the destruction of our countryside.

"Anyway, we trust your good work will continue for many years to come and that our contribution, in due course, will be fruitful."

Pledges of gifts in wills, like those of David and Joy, helps the Trust us to plan confidently for the future of native woods, trees and wildlife.
