The ideal wedding gift

If you're looking to give or receive something rather special as a wedding gift, how about a woodland stream, birdsong, or even a jar of blackberry jam? Though these suggestions may sound a little bizarre, they are all potential 'extras' that anyone receiving a woodland dedication as a wedding present could find 'thrown in' with their fantastic gift.

With areas only dedicated once in any of the hundreds of woods to choose from, these gifts are unique and lasting, and they help to support the UK's woodland and wildlife. Now isn't that better than giving or receiving a toaster or a funky toilet seat that will soon look out of date? What's more, family, friends and colleagues can donate to a single Group Fund in the couple's names so they all feel part of this very special Dominic West. Photo: Simon Kisnergift.

TV star Dominic West, who played detective Jimmy McNulty in The Wire, is one of many who chose woodland dedication as a wedding gift.

This Telegraph article explains why he and Catherine Fitzgerald took this decision when they tied the knot.
