The name for the largest new native forest in England!
Now we need your company’s help to realise our dream…
Heartwood Forest has already achieved unprecedented media coverage and now the Woodland Trust is giving your business the opportunity to be a part of our magnificent vision.
We’re offering the chance to sponsor a wood in this enormous 850 acre forest, to help your company achieve its environmental and wider business objectives.
The site boasts a prize location, just 20 miles from London, meaning you can have the option of planting your company’s wood with your stakeholders and reaping the benefits as you grow together.
Once planting begins, these barren fields will become thriving woodland within 12 years and home to a diverse habitat of flora and fauna.
What’s special about Heartwood?
It’s BIG for people
The proximity to London means that millions can access the site by public transport. Getting out and about in woodland is a great way for adults and children to connect with nature and we want everyone to come and take part in this wonderful natural playground.
It’s BIG for wildlife
Large areas of woodland are better than small fragments in helping species adapt in the face of climate change. This site will be the flagship in an unprecedented national tree planting campaign, also including 250 acres at Elmstead Market and 183 acres near Durham (Low Burnhall). In total, these three sites cover an area four times the size of Hyde Park and will enable us to plant almost a million trees.
It’s BIG for the Trust
This is the Woodland Trust's most exciting and ambitious tree planting opportunity in England, creating the largest new continuous native forest for millions of people to enjoy for free, forever. Located within the London Greenbelt, a major conservation area, and within the Chilterns ancient woodland concentration, Heartwood is an unmissable large-scale tree planting opportunity.
