A new initiative between Premier Paper and the Woodland Trust will see more native UK woodland created and support Premier Paper’s business ethos of taking a responsible commercial approach to environmental, social and ethical issues resulting from its activities.
Working with the Woodland Trust and its Woodland Carbon scheme will allow Premier Paper to remove CO2 from the distribution of four popular paper ranges Evolution, Multicopy, Elements and Essential Coated paper. This in turn will allow their customers to promote the fact that they have chosen and used paper where the equivalent amounts of CO2 from its distribution has been locked up in new woodland creation.
David Jones, Group Marketing Director said: “We are an independent owned UK company wishing to make a direct contribution to the work of a UK based environmental charity. The Woodland Trust and new woodland creation delivers tangible and visible results which may be visited and enjoyed by our customers, staff and the general public right across the country."
Dr Nick Atkinson, Woodland Trust Carbon Leader said “Trees capture and store atmospheric carbon and also bring many other more immediate benefits such as creating a habitat for native wildlife and reducing flood risks. We’re delighted that Premier Paper have chosen to work with us on this excellent initiative.”
