Pearson is delighted to be working with the Woodland Trust in a number of ways including planting trees equivalent to removing the carbon of the UK emissions for its UK headquarters and delivering free Seeds to Trees kits to Primary schools as part of the Woodland Trust’s More Trees More Good campaign.
The world’s leading education company, Pearson provides educational materials, technologies, assessments and related services to teachers and students of all ages.
The partnership illustrates Pearson’s ongoing commitment to the planet and its communities and reflects a shared understanding of the need not just to reduce carbon dioxide emissions but, by planting more trees, together we can make a positive difference.
President of Pearson UK, Rod Bristow said:
“It’s so important that children are educated on the vital role trees and woodland play in our environment. Pearson have pledged to be climate neutral, a goal we achieved in 2009. Our partnership with Woodland Trust reflects our ongoing work to be an environmentally conscious company.”
Pearson staff also got muddy muddy knees in March this year. They made a ‘treemendous’ effort, helping to plant trees at Heartwood Forest, St Albans, which will become the largest new native woodland in England.
Schools will be able to sign up for the packs from September and download free educational resourses. If you know of a school that would like to get involved, visit www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/pearson
