Lakeland

Kitchenware retailer carries off a great fundraising scheme!

Lakeland wanted to encourage customers to use fewer carrier bags and were also keen to show their support for the UK's woodland.

A partnership with the Woodland Trust was the perfect solution and has already raised around £40,000 to fund essential woodland conservation work.

For every customer who refuses to take a carrier bag, 1p is donated to the charity from Lakeland's 37 stores.

Finance and Retail Director of Lakeland, Bob Granger, said: "We are very happy to be supporting the Woodland Trust - this has proved a popular choice with colleagues and customers."

Lakeland has raised around £40,000 for the Woodland Trust through its carrier bag scheme.
