Funds thousands of new trees, reconnects children with nature and encourages people to visit woods
DoubleTree by Hilton - one of the world's biggest names in hospitality – has showed its commitment to woodland in the UK since 2008.
The hoteliers donated enough money to enable the Woodland Trust to plant 4000 native trees for the benefit of people and wildlife for years to come to celebrate the launch of Hilton's DoubleTree brand in the UK. Visitors were offered woodland-themed weekend breaks, with advice on sites to explore locally.
In 2009 the partnership involved DoubleTree by Hilton supporting woodland discovery days for youngsters - showing them the amazing natural playground offered by the UK's woodland.
In 2011 DoubleTree by Hilton is supporting VisitWoods.org.uk - the UK’s first interactive website to bring all major woodland-owning organisations into one searchable database. It is a great way for people to discover the woods close to their homes, and with lots of great ideas and resources.
