Kernow Coatings Ltd

Support from film coatings firm Kernow Coatings has seen 8,000 new native trees planted in the South West of England since 2007.

Kernow Coatings, based in Cornwall, has recognised the effect its operations have on the local, regional and global environment. So, as well as making continuous improvements in environmental performance and prevention of pollution, Kernow Coatings has funded the planting of native trees at Woodland Trust woods in Cornwall, Somerset and most recently 2,000 trees at Duncliffe Wood in Dorset. Their money extends to the lifetime care and protection of the woodland it creates, meaning we can ensure each tree planted reaches its full potential in the years to come.

Peter Newell, finance director at Kernow Coatings, said: “We are pleased to be able to support the Woodland Trust in the South West, so we can really see the benefits of our funding. Kernow Coatings works hard to reduce its impact on the environment by regularly assessing and reviewing its working practices and safety policy, and has set clear goals and targets in order to improve environmental performance. Planting trees locally has helped us to achieve our goals as well as enhance our landscape for years to come.”

Katherine Jaiteh, corporate fundraiser at the Woodland Trust, said: “We are delighted that Kernow Coatings has enabled us to plant so many trees in the South West in just a few years. Four woods have benefitted from their funding, providing precious habitat for woodland creatures, as well as beautiful spaces for the local communities to visit whenever they wish.”
