Working with the Woodland Trust to plant 50,000 sq metres of native woodland
Most forms of travel lead to carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere, which is contributing to climate change and posing a threat to our woodlands and wildlife. As well as taking steps to reduce our personal carbon footprints, we can also take steps to help reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere; using nature's own tried and tested form of carbon capture and storage- the humble tree.
That is why Eurocamp is working with the Woodland Trust – to fund the planting of native trees to take CO2 from the atmosphere, and provide woodland for generations of people and wildlife to enjoy here in the UK.

Where Eurocamp customers can make an impact
With your help Eurocamp have committed to funding 50,000 square metres of native woodland in a North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in near Appleby, Cumbria. This area is the size of 7 football pitches! The Woodland Trust calculates this planting will capture and store 2,000 tonnes of CO2 over time, your support will make a lasting difference ensuring there are trees for the future.
The area where trees are being planted forms part of the Appleby Fells Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The trees will be planted in low lying areas along gills and gullies to maintain and enhance the open habitat, which already includes 16 scheduled ancient monuments ranging from Neolithic burial mounds to medieval villages. The area also boasts a wide range of wildlife including endangered red squirrel, great crested newt and the black grouse.
