Trees capture carbon, it’s what they do

Carbon Dioxide is on the loose, but the TREE (Trees Reduce Environmental Emissions) task force is on our streets and in our countryside capturing this carbon.
Woods and trees in the UK currently lock up 12 million tonnes of CO2 a year, some two per cent of the CO2 emitted. But even though we are making some progress reducing emissions, the UK still needs your help to lock up more of the excess CO2 produced each year.
Creating new woodland is a wonderful and effective way to capture and store carbon dioxide. As well as creating valuable habitats that are great places to enjoy, woodland will support people and wildlife in adapting to a changing climate.
Can you help the TREE task force keep this nasty little molecule under control?
