Without trees our world would be a desolate place. They are the lungs of the Earth, absorbing and storing carbon dioxide which would otherwise contribute to dangerous global warming. But the benefits of trees don’t stop there: their presence enhances communities throughout the UK and provides a home to wildlife.

At the Woodland Trust we believe that reduction and avoidance of emissions is the most effective way to reduce the impact of climate change. We also wholeheartedly believe that planting trees is a viable way to capture and store the carbon that has been produced and cannot yet be avoided.  These trees will help us reforest the UK, and by creating larger woodland habitats, will help both people and wildlife to adapt to a changing climate.

You can use the guideline amounts to decide how much to donate or go to Act On CO2 to get a more accurate reading.  Donations can be made by monthly Direct Debit or one off payment.  Or you could ask your employer about setting up a payroll giving scheme and make your donation more tax efficient.
