Celebrity supporters

See our celebrity support for our Heartwood Forest project.

The Woodland Trust has a fantastic line-up of celebrity supporters who all have one thing in common - they share our love of woods and trees!

Stars of film and television, writers, gardeners, musicians and sports stars, whatever their background trees and woods are important to all our famous friends and they do a terrific amount to help us care for and protect ancient woodland. They also play a vital role helping to raise awareness of our campaigns and activities.

"People tend to get interested in trees either as a child or at the end of their life. It?s a magical thing, to plant a tree thinking when I grow up I can show this to my kids. We may be not long for this earth so it's nice to leave something behind, a wood or a tree that will stand for a long time. Millions of people will have access to this wood and get benefit from it."

"I am never happier than when I am walking in woodland. How wonderful to think this new forest will offer that opportunity to thousands of people, many of whom will also have the chance to take their children to plant trees; a brilliant experience for any child."

"Hertfordshire is really special to me. I love its ancient farmland, woodlands and hedgerows and the idea of England's largest new native forest so close to where I live is just amazing. Green spaces are incredibly important for people's well-being and anything we can do to increase accessible woodland and green space deserves backing all the way."

"It's like everything else, You only miss it when its gone. We live such busy lives at such a fast pace in concrete jungles there are few better things to do on a Sunday than walk through a wood. This is no better or worse than other environmental projects but for me this is my project and makes me smile. I hope others feel the way I do."

"Woods are fabulous places to unwind and let off steam, especially for families, and we definitely need more of them. I recently had a look at an amazing new Woodland Trust Wood in Kent, just 10 years old but already alive with wild flowers and wildlife. Their plans for the land in Hertfordshire are even more ambitious and I can't wait to see the results. I love trees and I think everyone should plant trees if they can. I have my own dream of creating a new wood as a safe haven for wildlife."
