Advice to help you plant woods and trees

Planting a wood is easier than you might think. Watching your trees grow is incredibly satisfying – it only takes a decade for small saplings to transform into flourishing young woodland, well above head height.

Look after your trees and they will reward you with vibrant greenness, a supply of firewood and a host of wildlife.

In this section you will find advice on planning, funding, planting and maintaining new woodland.

You can also contact us for help if you would like more detailed guidance - our woodland creation champions can help you see the wood for the trees!
