What is our management approach?
The Woodland Trust owns and manage a very diverse estate which is constantly growing (quite literally) in size, age and location.
Our woods are cared for in line with our woodland management approach and numerous regulatory, legal and physical site constraints, as well as local considerations.
Our
Woodland Management Approach (WMA) provides our woodland officers with overall direction on how we manage our estate. It underpins how decisions are made on what operations take place on our estate and deals with particular aspects of the natural environment and people.
Our aim is that all our operations which we choose to do beyond our legal and safety obligations should fit with our WMA which is why they feature in the front of each of our management plans.
