Our estate is managed by a team of regionally based woodland officers who ensure that our sites are managed in line with our policies, legal obligations, our woodland management approach and our management plans.
However, the actual work on the ground is implemented by a team of over 300 contractors, sometimes aided by volunteers where appropriate for the task.
Our contractor workforce is highly skilled and always appropriately trained for the job, whether that be complex tree surgery, mammal control or even holding public events.
Very often our contractors know the sites extremely well, having worked in them for many years, and even the bigger management companies tend to use locally-based workers.
