Credenhill Park Wood near Credenhill, Herefordshire

“Visit a Woodland Trust wood this Christmas to experience a fabulous festive walk. I recommend Credenhill Park Wood in Herefordshire. Occupying a prominent position in the Hereford Hills, this extraordinary ancient woodland has a fascinating history. I’m particularly interested in its archaeological significance – an Iron Age hillfort, considered to be amongst the largest in the UK. It’s definitely worth a visit.

Our woods are incredibly important, they are the lungs of the UK and vital for wildlife. They are also beautiful places for people to walk, rest and relax. We should do everything we can to protect and restore them, to ensure they are around for future generations. You can do your bit by recycling your Christmas cards with the Woodland Trust. Just take your cards to a participating store in January and you’ll help the Trust plant more trees in the UK.”
