Stour Wood near Wrabness, Essex

“As an athlete and a keen fisherman, I have spent much of my life outdoors training and competing. It’s allowed me to properly appreciate our brilliant countryside, our woods and trees, rivers and open fields. Take some time out yourself this Christmas and try getting back to nature.  Perhaps visit Stour Wood in Essex for an energising winter walk, it’s really great for wildlife, especially birds.

I think we should all do what we can to look after the environment. Recycling your Christmas cards with the Woodland Trust is a simple way to start because it helps them plant trees here in the UK – definitely worthy of a gold medal in my book.”
