About this wood

Eynsham Wood is a Homebase-funded Woods on your Doorstep site and despite the fact that no local fundraising was necessary, there was much local support for the project which was the 200th WOYD site for The Trust. Prior to Trust ownership, this convex field had been in arable production. During the early Autumn of 2000 grass seed was broadcast into the remaining stubble. The trees were planted in December 2000 by volunteers and contractors. It was established as native broadleaved woodland using the following species: oak, ash, field maple and a few wild cherry and crab apple.
