About this wood

The site is set on the gently sloping upper valley side plus steep lower valley side and plateau of a small stream. From the top of the site there are views out to sea. Further down stream the valley sides are clothed in ancient semi natural woodland much of which is owned by the National Trust as part of their Colby Estate Amroth. The soil is peaty dark/black but is only about 6" to 1' deep. Beneath it is a solid rock layer.
