About this wood

Oaks Wood sits within the beautiful valley of the River Faughan, just outside the city of Londonderry. The wood, though still in its infancy, has a feeling of maturity and tranquillity; perhaps due to its ideal setting. It’s just a short walk from Environment & Heritage Service’s Ness Wood Country Park, a beautiful mature woodland complex. And just a mile upstream is the Woodland Trust’s Killaloo Wood, which contains fragments of precious ancient woodland.

"Lovely wood, great for going for a walk in the nice weather. Steep entrance is a bit much for me though. Like the Oak sign as well, nice touch."
