About this wood

Foxley Wood was purchased by the Woodland Trust on 17th November 1995. It extends to some 28.7ha and was previously two large arable fields in a five year agricultural set-aside agreement. It falls within the National Forest and funding for its creation came largely from this source, being one of the first Tender Scheme winners. It remains under WGS contract where National Forest agreements exist, until March 2006.
