About this wood

A predominately ash, field maple woodland, Gault Wood was planted on an arable field between December 1994 and February 1996 entirely by volunteers, (The friends of Gault Wood) as part of the Cambridgeshire Woodland Fund project. The trees have growth very well on the whole reaching up to 5-6m in height. The wood was financially supported by the County and District councils, Eastern Electricity and by a substantial local contribution.
