About this wood

Newton Wood and Hollacombe Quarry lie in the Yealm Valley near Wembury and Newton Ferrers in South Devon. They are within the South Devon AONB, and have ASNW and County Wildlife Site designations. Because of this they have, since 2000 been included in a Woodland Grant Scheme Contract as a single management unit. They both provide good and regular public access, but generally for local residents only.

Your thoughts on this wood

"This is a lovely wood but walking access is restricted. Alongside the river is pretty and well used but further becomes more difficult. The upper path along the northern boundary is rough, uneven and in some places hard to find. "
