About this wood

Largely ancient, this substantial mixed woodland clings to the steep, north-facing slopes of the Cotswolds and, geologically speaking, is the best place in the county to view the scarp. It sits within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is believed to support a number of unusual plant, bryophyte and invertebrate species along with bat roosts.
