About this wood

Set on a hilltop just 21km (13 miles) from the heart of London, is Joydens Wood. Look carefully and you will see relics of its history including banks, ditches, humps and hollows beneath the trees, the remains of two late Iron Age roundhouses which are more than 2000 years old and the Faesten Dic, an Anglo-Saxon defensive bank and ditch running through the wood.
