About this wood

Bickenhall Old Churchyard is a tiny, flat site located off a lane in a very quiet rural area near the A358 road. Fields and one neighbouring house surround it. Although there is the Planted Ancient Woodland Site of Birkenhall Wood (Forestry Commission owned) 200m to the north, the trees in the Old Churchyard is surrounded by agricultural fields and so is distinct in the landscape. The wood lies in the Mid Somerset Hills Natural Area and Countryside Character Area.
