About this wood

This 3.6 ha broadleaved woodland is an extremely important amenity and landscape feature that is well used by the people of Woodbridge. It lies in a distinctive hollow and is possibly the site of ancient woodland, with oak, beech and sycamore there are a number of very large dominant mature trees, with the most notable being an old veteran Oak Pollard situated on the western boundary. Within Porters wood there is a low lying area of wet woodland, where large common alder are the dominant tree species.
