About this wood

Though Old Wood is currently mainly Corsican pine and Douglas fir, a conservation programme is gradually converting much of the site back to broadleaf wood and heathland. It is hoped the heathland will eventually become one of north Norfolk’s key conservation habitats – already home to adders and slow-worms.
