About this wood

Coed Gwriag is ancient semi-natural woodland situated on a west-facing slope. The area has been heavily thinned in the past, and has a characteristic mix of mature trees with a rich under story. The canopy is dominated by oak but also includes small-leaved lime, sycamore, cherry, ash, elm, birch, wild service and yew. Yew is particularly prevalent along the sunken tracks or ditches that cross the site.
