About this wood

There’s a real opportunity to enjoy the “forest experience” on a visit to expansive Old Wood, an attractive and varied site with a mixture of ancient oak, lime woodland and conifers. The ancient woodland has a high conservation value which will develop further as the conifer areas, planted during the 1950s and 1960s, are replaced by native species.
