About this wood

Quarry Wood comprises 2ha of (primarily ancient) semi-natural woodland in a prominent position overlooking the hamlet of Little Doward. It occupies relatively steep slopes in, and flatter ground to the south of, a small quarry. The soils appear moderately base-rich throughout.
