About this wood

Londonthorpe Wood consists of a 56.6ha woodland creation site planted in three phase during 1993-95 on agricultural land on the edge of Belton Park and a smaller area (4.0ha) of mature wood on the top of the limestone escarpment above. This is very visible in the landscape. In addition the whole of the site lies on the edge of Grantham abutting the town's industrial estate, the National Trust 's Belton Park property, the adjacent Woodland Trust Alma Park property and surrounding farmland.
