About this wood

This ancient woodland is set on steep slopes of the Duddon Valley and is part of the largest series of woodlands. Oak, birch and sycamore grow on the lower slopes of the wood together with hazel, holly and rowan. Higher up, on land previously planted with conifers, a young woodland of oak, ash, alder, hazel, rowan and holly is emerging.
