About this wood

Set in a rolling landscape of farmland, woodland and hedgerows, Pound Farm is making an important contribution to replenishing East Anglia’s lost heritage. Arable farmland until the 1990s, it features pockets of ancient woodland, ponds and wildflower meadows. Since 1990 more than 60,000 trees have been planted, resulting in 148 acres of new native woodland many trees more than 6 metres tall. The ride edges are peppered with wild flowers such as ladies bedstraw, meadow saxifrage, white campion and betony.
