  • Summer walks and adventure: Time to get outdoors! Head to the woods for dappled paths, shady walks, tree climbing, den building and more.

About this wood

Moves to restore Northfield Wood to its original native broadleaf cover are paying off. The wood is starting to open up, and wide rides re-established. Beautiful wild flowers associated with ancient woodland including oxlip, ramsons, wood anemone, wood spurge, herb-paris and orchids are making a come-back. Displays in summer are beautiful, particularly along the ride edges.
