About this wood

Valley Park Woods are a series of separate woods, four of which are owned by the Woodland Trust (WT) with others owned by Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC). The four woods (or parts thereof) owned by the WT are Clothiers Copse (cpt 1), Knightwood (cpt2), Small Profits (cpt3) and Titlark Copse (cpt 4). The woods are in an area which in the mid 1980s, changed from being predominantly rural to urban by the expansion of Chandlers Ford to the east. The rapid development of the surrounding previously agricultural land-use has left these woods surrounded with dense housing, an industrial estate and associated infrastructure.
